VP Fleet & Supply Operations
Location: Hyderabad (HQ), frequent travel across operating cities (>10 days/Month)

THE BUILD MANDATE
Red Health is building the operating backbone for emergency response at national scale. We operate 450 road ambulances and work with a nationwide partner network of more than 5,000. Our next chapter is to scale a consistently excellent fleet operation across 40+ cities - one standard of readiness, safety and response, whether an ambulance is owned by Red Health or operated by a partner.
This role exists to build that system. You will create the 24x7 control tower, partner operating model, field organisation, technology, controls and operating rhythm that make quality and profitability repeatable as we scale. The goal is clear: build the best-quality emergency fleet operation in the country, create a disciplined path to profitable growth, and earn the trust of patients, families, hospitals and enterprises every time a Red Health ambulance shows up.
We are looking for a hands-on, relentless fleet leader who sets a demanding standard, refuses to normalise mediocrity and is willing to outwork the problem. You will own availability, reliability, cost and operating discipline across the owned and third-party fleet, and turn a large network into one trusted national brand.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN & DELIVER
• End-to-end readiness of the owned and third-party fleet across cities: availability, deployment, uptime, maintenance, compliance, documentation and replacement planning.
• Red Health's partner-fleet operating model: partner selection, onboarding, contracting, capacity allocation, service levels, audits, scorecards, corrective action and exits.
• Partner vehicles and crews held to owned-fleet standards of readiness, safety, response, branding and customer experience; quick intervention when a partner falls short.
• A 24x7 control tower with live visibility of owned and partner vehicles, shifts and exceptions; daily reviews with named owners and deadlines.
• Pilot/driver capacity planning, roster coverage and attendance discipline with Operations and HR - backups for leave, absenteeism, demand spikes and service disruptions.
• Preventive maintenance, breakdown response, workshop and vendor SLAs, fuel controls and spare-parts management on a measurable operating rhythm.
• Fleet P&L and unit economics: annual plans and budgets, cost per kilometre and case, utilisation, fuel, repairs, vendor commercials, leakage controls and asset lifecycle. A clear path to profitability by city and partner without compromising patient or crew safety.
• City-, site- and partner-level KPIs for uptime, response readiness, acceptance and fulfilment, cost, maintenance turnaround, incidents and missed shifts. Build and hold accountable the field organisation; lead root-cause reviews after every material service failure.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• 10+ years in fleet, transport or field operations, with leadership responsibility across multiple cities or sites across brands such as Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Meesho, Delhivery, Gati, or comparable companies
• Experience managing a 24x7 distributed fleet at scale. Ambulance, emergency services, healthcare logistics, mobility, last-mile or other high-availability operations strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing a large third-party/partner fleet: sourcing, commercials, SLA governance, audits, performance improvement, difficult exits.
• Proven ownership of uptime, driver/pilot staffing, preventive maintenance, vendor performance, compliance and fleet cost.
• A record of improving unit economics, controls and profitability without trading away readiness, quality or safety.
• Strong command of operating data and systems - dashboards and daily reviews become field action, not just reports.
• Relentless personal ownership. You hold a higher bar than the room, dislike excuses and recurring failures, and stay with a problem until it is closed. You combine intensity with fairness, data and respect for frontline teams.
• Strong people leadership across Operations, HR, Finance, Procurement, Medical and customer-facing teams.
• Working knowledge of transport regulations, vehicle documentation, insurance, safety and incident management.
• Bachelor's degree required; operating track record matters most.
