Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary VP, Engineering Middleware Manager to lead and strategically evolve our middleware platforms and services at GCC India. This role requires a strong technical leader with proven expertise in enterprise-grade middleware technologies, a passion for driving innovation, and the ability to manage a high-performing engineering team.
Job Responsibilities**
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for GCC India's middleware architecture, platforms, and services, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and technology trends.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of highly skilled middleware engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure middleware solutions across various business units.
- Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and governance policies for middleware development, deployment, and operations.
- Collaborate closely with architecture, development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of middleware components.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new middleware technologies and products to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for middleware platforms, focusing on performance, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place and regularly tested for critical middleware infrastructure.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to middleware health, performance, and team productivity.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 8 years in a leadership role focused on middleware technologies.
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade middleware solutions (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, WebSphere MQ, Apache ActiveMQ, ESBs like MuleSoft, Apache Camel, integration platforms).
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, API management, and cloud-native middleware solutions (e.g., AWS MSK, Azure Service Bus, GCP Pub/Sub).
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools relevant to middleware deployments.
- Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of complex middleware environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Experience in the financial services or a similarly regulated industry is a plus.
