Your Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Accountant (m/f/d) with expertise in German HGB accounting to join our team. In this role, you will take full ownership of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, helping to establish and shape the accounting function from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and experienced professional to set up best practices and ensure financial accuracy and compliance within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with HGB accounting principles and German financial regulations.
• Process invoices, payments, and reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Monitor cash flow, outstanding payments, and liaise with vendors and clients regarding invoicing matters.
• Prepare and review financial reports, general ledger entries, and month-end closings.
• Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting as required under German law.
• Work closely with auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Implement and optimize accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency.
  
  

What You Bring:

• Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
• Strong knowledge of HGB (German GAAP) and experience in German accounting regulations.
• Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable, ideally within a growing company.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Familiarity with German tax regulations and financial compliance.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, DATEV, or similar).
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and analytical mindset.
