Company Description
The Rubber Board is a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, established by the Rubber Act 1947. It is dedicated to the growth and development of the rubber industry in the country. The Board carefully oversees all aspects of rubber cultivation, marketing, and research, ensuring sustainable practices and industry advancement. It plays a pivotal role in promoting innovations and providing support to stakeholders in the sector.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Volunteer role based in Meghalaya, India. The role involves assisting with the promotion and development of rubber cultivation, supporting research and extension activities, and helping implement initiatives to enhance the productivity of rubber growers. Volunteers will also collaborate with local communities, provide educational outreach, and work on projects aimed at sustainable farming practices.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of agriculture, rubber cultivation, or farming practices is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse communities
- Ability to conduct research, collect data, and prepare reports
- Teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Adaptability to work in rural and field environments
- Commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation
- Proficiency in local languages is an advantage
- Previous volunteering experience or a related educational background is beneficial
