Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Vocational Teacher role based in Tripura, India. The Vocational Teacher will deliver curriculum-aligned vocational training in assigned trade areas, facilitate practical sessions, and ensure learners gain job-ready skills. Responsibilities include planning and conducting classroom and lab activities, assessing learner performance, maintaining accurate training and attendance records, and supporting continuous improvement of teaching materials. The role involves mentoring students on career pathways, coordinating with school administration and SLCPL academic teams, and participating in workshops, reviews, and community outreach related to skill development. The Vocational Teacher will also adhere to institutional and state education guidelines while promoting an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
Qualifications
- Strong vocational teaching and training skills, with experience delivering practical, hands-on instruction in relevant trade or skill domains.
- Ability to design lesson plans, develop instructional materials, and adapt curriculum to learner needs and local industry requirements.
- Competence in classroom management, learner engagement, and mentoring diverse groups of students toward employability and career readiness.
- Basic digital literacy and comfort using EdTech tools, learning management systems, and AI-enabled or blended learning platforms.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including clear written and verbal communication in English and local/regional languages where applicable.
- Organizational skills for maintaining records, tracking learner progress, and coordinating with school authorities, SLCPL teams, and industry partners.
- Minimum of a relevant vocational qualification, diploma, or degree in a technical, vocational, or skill development field; formal teacher training or B.Ed. is an advantage.
- Prior experience in school-based vocational programs, skill development initiatives, or training under government schemes is preferred.
