About the role

Vocal Media is growing our data team, and is hiring both a Data Analyst and a Data & Analytics Director.


Data Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage data workflows, reporting, and data requests
  • Assist in cleaning and organizing datasets from multiple sources and developing robust reporting data standards
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across social media and influencer campaigns
  • Build and maintain dashboards that communicate performance trends to both internal stakeholders and clients using 3rd-party analytics platforms and in-house reporting tools
  • Translate data findings into clear, actionable insights and contribute to post-campaign reports
  • Configure analytics platform with client accounts, segmentation, or other tagging mechanism
  • Help maintain data systems and documentation for data processes
  • Devise new creative ways to track campaign success, benchmarks, and opportunities for improvement


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1–3 years of experience in a data-related role; at least 1 year experience working with SQL
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with Python or R is a plus
  • Experience in Quickbase a plus
  • Proven experience and comfort with data quality control
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Comfortable working with social media metrics
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain a can do, innovative and solutions-oriented attitude
  • Experience explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Data & Analytics Director

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports Vocal Media's mission and objectives
  • Lead the analysis of program data to generate actionable insights that drive performance and inform future strategies
  • Interface with vendors and partners to ensure optimal data infrastructure, data delivery, and continuous improvement to data offerings
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of data tools and platforms that enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities
  • Monitor benchmarks and identify gaps in collective strategy
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including client services / programs, operations, tech, and leadership to integrate data insights into campaign planning and execution


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a data and analytics role, 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Advanced experience with SQL, relational databases (strong preference for BigQuery), Google Sheets and/or Excel formulas, data pipelines, and organizing code and analytical output in GitHub
  • Strong Python experience with a focus on ETL and API integration
  • Experience creating automated, visually pleasing, and actionable reports in visualization tools
  • Strong training and support skills for staff with varying technical abilities
  • Experience in Quickbase a plus
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences
