* Job Overview

ROSS Controls is seeking an experienced VMC Setter & Operator to join our manufacturing team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMC machines, machine setting, production operations, and inspection. This role is ideal for candidates with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a precision manufacturing environment.

* Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate VMC machines
• Perform tool setting, offset setting (tool & work offset), and machine adjustments
• Know how to Dial
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Monitor production to ensure quality standards are met
• Conduct self-inspection using gauges and measuring instruments
• Perform minor program edits on the machine when required
• Select appropriate tools and fixtures for machining operations
• Maintain machine safety and cleanliness standards
• Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure minimal downtime
• Coordinate with quality and production teams

* Required Qualifications & Skills

• 2 to 5 years of experience as a VMC Operator / Setter
• Hands-on experience with VMC machines
• Experience with Fanuc controller operation and editing
• Knowledge of tool offset and work offset settings
• Ability to study engineering drawings and select tools
• Experience in self-inspection and gauge handling
• Strong understanding of machining processes
• Knowledge of safety procedures in manufacturing environments
• Good communication skills
• Basic MS Office knowledge

* Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience with fixtures and special tooling
• CAM programming knowledge (Esprit for Turn Mill)
