Role Description The VMC Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to produce mould base components according to technical drawings and specifications. Daily tasks include machine setup, tool selection and calibration, loading and unloading workpieces, and adjusting machining parameters to ensure accurate and efficient production. The role involves inspecting finished components for dimensional accuracy and surface finish, performing basic maintenance, and reporting any issues affecting quality or productivity. The VMC Operator will collaborate closely with production and quality teams to meet delivery timelines and uphold safety and quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in India.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of VMC machine operation, including setup, tooling, and parameter adjustment for precision machining.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and measurement reports.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Knowledge of basic CNC programming concepts and familiarity with machining processes for mould base manufacturing.
- Awareness of shop floor safety practices, housekeeping standards, and preventive maintenance routines for machines.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to identify and correct machining deviations or defects.
- Prior experience as a VMC operator or in precision machining, preferably in a mould base or tooling environment.
- Relevant technical qualification such as ITI, Diploma, or vocational training in machining, tool & die making, or mechanical engineering.
- Ability to work in shifts, collaborate with team members, and follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines.
