Role Description
The Vision Systems Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end design, integration, commissioning, and
troubleshooting of machine vision systems within Cybernetik's industrial automation projects. This includes 2D/3D inspection, barcode/OCR reading, robot-guidance cameras, and colour/presence/defect-detection systems across food, pharma, and consumer goods lines.

Experience: 3 – 7 Years in industrial machine vision
Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field
Reports To: Sr. Control Engineer / Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Select and specify vision cameras, lenses, lighting (ring, dome, coaxial, strobe) and frame grabbers for each application.
- Develop and configure inspection programs using vision platforms such as Keyence CV/XG series, Cognex In-Sight / Designer, Omron FH/FQ, Sick Inspector, or Basler/IDS with Halcon/VisionPro.
- Integrate vision outputs with PLC (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Rockwell) via Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, RS-232, or discrete I/O.
- Design lighting schemes and enclosures to ensure stable, repeatable image capture under varying ambient conditions.
- Configure and commission OCR, OCV, barcode (1D/2D/QR/DM), and colour-sorting inspection stations.
- Set up robot-guidance (2D eye-in-hand and fixed-camera) for pick-and-place, bin-picking, and assembly verification.
- Develop camera calibration routines and coordinate-transformation matrices for accurate positional data to robots.
- Perform FAT and SAT with customers; document inspection parameters, pass/fail thresholds, and reject statistics.
- Create and maintain vision system documentation: wiring diagrams, camera settings backup, and operator SOPs.
- Provide Level-2 and Level-3 troubleshooting support for vision faults during commissioning and post- handover.
- Collaborate with mechanical and controls teams to optimise product presentation, conveyor speed, and trigger timing.
