About the Department
As a key member of the Public Works Management Team, performs advanced supervisory, administrative, and highly technical work in the planning, coordination, and execution of a comprehensive municipal fleet program. This position is responsible for the full operational and strategic oversight of Fleet Services operations, including maintenance, asset lifecycle management, procurement, vendor management, and regulatory compliance.
The Fleet Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring operational readiness and reliability of all Village vehicles and equipment, supporting Public Works, Fire, Police and other departments. This position exercises independent judgment in managing fleet operations and provides data-driven recommendations related to fleet replacement, specification development, and capital improvement planning. The Fleet Supervisor is accountable for maintaining fleet readiness, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance across all Village fleet operations.
HOURS AND SCHEDULE
Primarily, Monday through Friday between the hours of 06:30 and 14:30; some overnight and/or weekend hours when on call or in response to weather events or other emergencies.

Develops and maintains data-driven replacement schedules based on mileage, engine hours, condition assessments, maintenance costs, and lifecycle cost analysis. Utilizes fleet analytics, telematics systems, and maintenance data to support predictive maintenance strategies and optimize asset performance. Maintains accurate fleet records within enterprise asset management systems. |

| 4. | | Oversees outsourced fleet services including major repairs, warranty work, and specialty services. Establishes and enforces performance standards related to cost, quality, and timeliness. Evaluates and balances in-house versus outsourced work to optimize efficiency and resource utilization. |

Leads the preparation and administration of RFQs, RFPs, and formal bid documents. Administers vendor contracts and ensures compliance with service level expectations. |

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPUTER SKILLS: The designated education and experience levels best describe the minimum requirement needed to fulfill the essential job functions. However, any combination of equivalent education or experience may be considered. Degree or coursework should be in: A technical school/certification program or coursework in Automotive Services or a related field is preferred.
