About the role

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Define the product vision and strategy for UPI payment products in alignment with the company's overall objectives.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor analysis, and emerging technologies in the digital payments space, particularly within the UPI framework.

Product Development:

  • Own the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch, including product planning, development, and execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, operations, legal, and compliance to deliver on the product roadmap.
  • Translate customer needs, market opportunities, and business objectives into a clear product vision and product requirements.

User Experience:

  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure the product delivers a superior customer experience.
  • Regularly gather and analyze user feedback to continuously improve the UPI product experience.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the UPI product, including internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Present product updates and strategies to senior management and key stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all UPI products comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., guidelines from the National Payments Corporation of India - NPCI) and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure smooth product launches and ongoing operations.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Use data analytics to monitor product performance, identify issues, and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Define and track key performance metrics to measure product success and optimize product features.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for product innovation and enhancements that align with the evolving UPI ecosystem.
  • Lead initiatives for integrating new features and technologies (e.g., tokenization, real-time fraud detection) into UPI products.

Partnerships:

  • Develop and manage partnerships with banks, payment processors, and fintech companies to enhance UPI product offerings.
  • Negotiate and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) with external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, preferably within digital payments, fintech or banking sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UPI ecosystem and related regulatory frameworks (e.g., NPCI guidelines).
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end product lifecycle with successful product launches.
  • Strong understanding of user experience design, mobile app development, and API integration.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel) to derive actionable insights.Hands-on experience with payment processing, transaction management, and fraud detection
