Role Description This is a full-time Video Journalist role based in Delhi, India, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work-from-home flexibility. The Video Journalist will spend most days on the ground, identifying and covering citizen-centric stories, shooting video in diverse field environments, and conducting interviews with community members and stakeholders. Responsibilities include planning and producing visual narratives, writing scripts or story outlines, coordinating with the editorial team, and ensuring accurate, balanced reporting aligned with KRAM TV’s verification standards. The role involves managing video equipment, overseeing basic editing or handoff to post-production, and preparing content for digital broadcasting and social channels. The Video Journalist will also collaborate with producers and digital teams to refine story angles, meet deadlines, and maintain high ethical and safety standards while reporting in the field.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Video Journalism and Reporting, with the ability to identify impactful stories and cover events in real time.
- Candidates should possess skills in Video Production and Broadcasting, including familiarity with digital platforms and basic post-production workflows.
- Candidates should possess skills in Shooting Video, camera operation, and handling audio-visual equipment in varied outdoor and indoor settings.
- Candidates should possess Writing skills, including the ability to craft clear scripts, captions, and story notes for digital news formats.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior field reporting experience, knowledge of current affairs and governance issues in India, and fluency in English and Hindi.
- Strong ethical judgment, attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, and comfort with working in dynamic, sometimes unpredictable environments are important.
- A relevant academic background in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if supported by strong portfolio or demonstrable experience.
