Job Description – Video Editor (Social Media & Content)

About the Role
BMA Conventions is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor to support the development of engaging digital content across social media platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming raw footage into compelling short-form videos optimized for platforms such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok.
This role requires a strong understanding of visual storytelling, social media trends, and audience engagement techniques to create content that captures attention and drives viewer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Video Editing : Edit and refine raw footage into high-quality 15–60 second short-form videos
Ensure smooth transitions, effective pacing, and a clear narrative flow
Visual Enhancements : Incorporate captions, subtitles, transitions, and basic motion graphics
Maintain visual consistency and ensure text readability across devices
Audio Integration : Select and synchronize trending audio, background music, and sound effects
Ensure audio elements enhance the overall viewer experience
Platform Optimization : Format videos in vertical (9:16) aspect ratio suitable for short-form platforms
Optimize content according to platform-specific styles and engagement practices
Collaboration : Work closely with the marketing and content teams to develop creative concepts and hooks
Contribute ideas that improve video performance, retention, and reach
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Proficiency
Experience with video editing software such as:
Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe After Effects
CapCut Desktop
DaVinci Resolve
Social Media Knowledge
Strong understanding of short-form content trends and audience behavior
Awareness of engagement strategies, including effective video hooks and pacing
Creative and Design Skills
Excellent sense of timing, visual composition, and storytelling
Ability to present information clearly through effective visual hierarchy
Work Ethic : Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote work environment
Capable of managing deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
