Role Description This remote Video Editor Intern role is an internship position focused on supporting Laneway’s media and marketing initiatives. The intern will assist in editing and assembling video content for social media, marketing campaigns, and client projects, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and storytelling goals. Day-to-day tasks include organizing raw footage, selecting clips, trimming and sequencing video, adding basic effects, transitions, audio, and captions, and preparing content in various formats for digital platforms. The intern will collaborate with marketing and creative team members to refine concepts, incorporate feedback, and deliver polished video assets on schedule, while learning best practices in digital content creation and production workflows.
Qualifications
- Video editing skills using common tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and a basic understanding of timelines, cuts, transitions, and exporting formats.
- Foundational knowledge of motion graphics and visual design principles, including working with text overlays, simple animations, and brand elements.
- Audio editing and sound design basics, such as leveling tracks, syncing audio, and selecting appropriate music and sound effects for digital content.
- Familiarity with social media and digital marketing platforms, including adapting video content for channels like YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other short-form formats.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to follow creative direction and incorporate feedback constructively.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly with team members, and manage multiple tasks or projects.
- Interest in business, startups, and modern digital media trends; prior coursework or projects in media, communications, film, or related fields is beneficial.
- Portfolio or sample work demonstrating video editing capabilities and storytelling sense is strongly preferred.
