About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, creative Senior Video Editor who can transform raw footage into compelling, high-impact content at scale. This is not a passive editing role — you will be a central creative force who understands storytelling, audience psychology, and platform nuance.
You will work with a rich library of existing footage and continuously growing assets, identifying stories within the material and shaping them into content that earns attention and drives results.
What You'll Do
Editing & Content Creation
- Edit, cut, and produce a high volume of videos — long-form, short-form, Reels, YouTube, brand films, and more — from existing footage libraries
- Develop and maintain a sharp editorial eye for pacing, rhythm, narrative arc, and visual style
- Identify the best content within large volumes of raw footage without being told exactly where to look
- Add motion graphics, captions, transitions, music, and sound design to elevate the final output
- Repurpose and reformat content intelligently across platforms while preserving intent and quality
- Ensure all videos are edited as per the brand guidelines
Shoot Coordination & Production
- Plan and coordinate video shoots — including location, talent briefing, shot lists, and equipment prep
- Step in as on-set production coordinator or director whenever required
- Brief and manage external vendors, videographers, or crew when shoots scale up
- Ensure all footage is captured in a way that supports downstream editing efficiency
Strategy & Creative Thinking
- Proactively pitch content ideas, formats, and series concepts based on audience trends and business goals
- Review footage archives and surface hidden stories or underutilised content opportunities
- Stay current with editing trends, platform algorithms, and content formats that perform
- Collaborate with the marketing and brand team to align output with campaign goals
Operations & Workflow
- Manage and maintain an organised footage library and asset archive
- Own the post-production pipeline — from ingestion and rough cuts to final delivery
- Consistently meet tight turnaround timelines without compromising quality
- Document and improve internal editing workflows and SOPs over time
What We're Looking For
Experience & Education
- 4+ years of professional video editing experience in a content, media, agency, or brand environment
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communication Design, Mass Communication, or a closely related field
- A strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across formats — brand films, social content, documentary, or commercial
Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and visual effects
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Audition
- Experience with colour grading tools (DaVinci Resolve)
- Comfortable working with 4K+ footage, multicam timelines, and large archive libraries
Soft Skills & Mindset
- Highly intelligent and fast-thinking — you spot the story in seconds and execute with conviction
- Self-directed with a strong ownership mentality; you don't wait to be told what to do
- Excellent judgment about what makes content work — for audiences, algorithms, and brand
- Strong communicator who can articulate creative decisions clearly to stakeholders
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in parallel without losing quality or calm
- Detail-obsessed but deadline-aware — you know when something is done
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-assisted editing tools (Descript, Runway ML, CapCut, etc.)
- Familiarity with YouTube SEO, Reels strategy, or content performance analytics
- Basic cinematography skills — comfortable operating a camera when needed
- Experience managing or mentoring junior editors or production assistants
- Background in journalism, advertising, or documentary filmmaking
