We're hiring: Video Editor

We're not looking for someone who just knows their way around a timeline.
We're looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to turn footage and ideas into high-quality video content.
We're also looking for someone who is comfortable experimenting with AI-powered video tools and incorporating them into their workflow.

The Wise Idiot is a content and marketing agency. We work with clients across a variety of platforms and mediums, creating content that brings their visions to life.
We're small, opinionated, and particular about the work. We care about the details, we care about deadlines, and we care about doing the work well.
The role
As a Video Editor, you'll be responsible for bringing our clients' visions to life through the creation of high-quality video content.
You'll work closely with our designers, writers, and producers to develop and execute video projects across a variety of platforms and mediums.
You'll primarily work across traditional video editing, motion graphics, and visual storytelling, while also using AI video tools such as Higgsfield and Google Flow wherever they can add value to the creative process.
What you'll actually be doing
- Collaborate with designers, writers, producers, and team members on video projects
- Edit footage and audio to create engaging, high-quality content
- Create and edit video content using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Create AI-generated video content using tools such as Higgsfield and Google Flow
- Experiment with AI tools to develop visuals, shots, and creative concepts
- Add visual effects, motion graphics, transitions, and colour correction as needed
- Work across projects for different platforms and mediums
- Take feedback and iterate on your work
- Ensure projects are completed on time and to the required standard
- Stay up to date with the latest video editing techniques, software, and AI tools
What we're looking for
- 1–3 years of experience in video editing
- A strong portfolio showcasing your work
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Experience with AI video generation and editing tools
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Higgsfield, Google Flow, or similar AI tools
- A strong understanding of video editing techniques and storytelling
- A keen eye for detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- A passion for video editing, experimentation, and creative problem-solving
