Video Editor – The Platter
Full-time
We're building a content engine that doesn't just follow trends it
sets them. The Platter is looking for a Video Editor who can turn
raw footage into scroll-stopping, share-worthy content across ads,
social, and long-form.
You'll work on high-volume creative: brand campaigns, podcast
edits, Instagram Reels, and everything in between. This isn't a
one-person-in-a-dark-room gig, you'll collaborate with strategists,
designers and directors to shape stories that cut through the
noise.
What you'll do:
• Edit for impact. Craft dynamic social cutdowns, ad spots, and long-form content that hold attention and
drive results.
• Design in motion. Rotoscope, track, animate - integrate motion graphics and kinetic type that elevate
storytelling, not distract from it.
• Sound matters. Layer SFX, music, and dialogue to create immersive edits with crisp audio and intentional
pacing.
• Own the narrative flow. Build sequences with smart B-roll placement, creative transitions, and pacing that
respects both the platform and the audience.
• Execute at speed. You'll juggle multiple projects weekly, some fast-turnaround social edits, some longer
narrative pieces, without sacrificing quality.
• Platform fluency. Understand what works on IG vs. YouTube vs. LinkedIn, and edit accordingly (aspect
ratios, hook structure, pacing).
You should have:
• 1-3 yrs of editing professionally (agency, production house, or in-house brand team)
• Strong motion design chops - comfortable in After Effects for animation, tracking, and compositing
• Speed + polish - can turn around 2-3 60-second Reels in a day or a 5-minute brand film in a week
• A portfolio that shows range - social content, long-form, motion graphics, sound design. Bonus if you've
worked on ad campaigns or podcast content.
• Software: Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro (primary), After Effects (motion/VFX), colour grading and audio
mixing
What sets you apart:
• You've edited branded content or ad campaigns that actually performed (we want to see the work + the
results)
• You understand platform-specific editing: vertical video, captions-first cuts, 3-second hooks
• You've worked in high-output environments (agency, media house, creator economy) and know how to
triage without burning out
• You have a point of view, you don't just execute a brief, you challenge it when the edit can be better
