Role Description The Video Editor will be responsible for editing and assembling recorded raw footage into polished video content that supports the college’s academic, promotional, and event-related communication. Day-to-day tasks include organizing footage, selecting and trimming clips, adding transitions, titles, and effects, and synchronizing audio and video for lectures, campus events, and social media content. The role also involves collaborating with faculty and administrative teams to understand project requirements, maintaining consistent visual standards in line with the college’s brand, and managing file storage and backups. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, requiring regular presence on campus to capture content, coordinate with stakeholders, and respond to immediate editing needs.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and basic motion graphics tools.
- Skills in video production workflows, including footage organization, audio editing, color correction, and export for various platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with academic and administrative teams, interpret briefs, and translate concepts into clear visual narratives.
- Attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a campus environment.
- Familiarity with social media and digital platforms, including optimizing video formats and lengths for online audiences.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Media Studies, Visual Communication, Film Editing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in educational, institutional, or corporate video projects is an advantage.
