Key Responsibilities
Video Production & Editing
- Edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos for various platforms (social media, website, ads, presentations).
- Apply advanced editing techniques, including color correction, grading, transitions, and special effects.
- Ensure all videos meet technical specifications for different distribution channels.
Script
- Ability to create, interpret, and break down scripts/storyboards into actionable editing plans.
- Understanding of how script elements translate into visual and auditory sequences.
- Proficiency in aligning video edits with dialogue, narration, and on-screen text from scripts.
- Providing input on script feasibility and visual opportunities during pre-production.
Motion Graphics & Animation
- Design and implement compelling motion graphics, lower thirds, titles, and animated elements to enhance video content.
- Create animated explainers or short promotional videos from scratch.
Sound Design & Mixing
- Select and integrate appropriate music, sound effects, and voiceovers.
- Perform audio mixing, mastering, and noise reduction to ensure high-quality sound.
Content Strategy & Storytelling
- Collaborate with content creators and marketers to develop video concepts and storyboards.
- Contribute creative ideas for visual storytelling and narrative flow.
- Maintain a consistent visual style and brand identity across all video assets.
Asset Management & Archiving
- Organise and manage video footage, project files, and final assets efficiently.
- Maintain a library of stock footage, music, and sound effects.
AI in Video Editing
- Familiarity with AI-powered editing tools for tasks like automated transcription, object removal, or upscaling.
- Understanding of how AI can assist in content organisation, tagging, and search within large media libraries.
- Ability to leverage AI for generating rough cuts, identifying key moments, or suggesting creative enhancements.
- Awareness of ethical considerations and limitations when using AI in creative workflows.
Must-Have Skills
- 2 – 4 years of professional experience in video editing, post-production, or motion graphics.
- Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition).
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse video editing and motion graphics work.
- Excellent understanding of video formats, codecs, compression, and delivery for various platforms.
- Solid grasp of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with 3D animation software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender).
- Basic videography skills (camera operation, lighting, sound recording).
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced digital media environment.
- Knowledge of current social media video trends and best practices.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
