About the role
Our client, one of the leading newspaper companies in Pondicherry, is expanding into digital media and content marketing. We are looking for a creative and execution-focused Video Editor who can transform ideas into engaging short-form content across multiple social platforms.
What You'll Do
- Edit engaging Reels, YouTube Shorts, and social media videos.
- Create content optimized for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Add B-roll, motion graphics, subtitles, transitions, and AI-generated voiceovers whenever required.
- Enhance videos with sound effects, music, color correction, and basic visual effects.
- Coordinate closely with the videographer to provide creative inputs during shoots.
- Ensure all content aligns with the client's brand identity and publishing schedules.
- Deliver high-quality videos within tight turnaround times.
- Handle client content with complete professionalism and confidentiality.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3+ years of professional video editing experience.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar editing software.
- Native or bilingual level proficiency in Tamil language is mandatory.
- Experience creating high-performing short-form social media content.
- Familiarity with AI voice/video generation tools and modern content creation workflows.
- Good understanding of storytelling, pacing, trends, and audience engagement.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with creative teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication (VisCom) or a related field is an advantage.
- Experience working with media houses, digital agencies, or content studios is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cinematography and videography workflows is a plus.
