We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and multi-talented Video Editor to join our creative team at Magic Lantern Studios.
This role is not just about cutting videos — we’re looking for someone who can shoot, edit, design motion graphics, colour grade, mix sound, and explore AI tools to create next-level storytelling experiences.
Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹20,000/month
Location: Hyderabad
Job Description
As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for capturing and editing visuals into compelling stories that match the director’s vision. From camera work on set to polished post-production output, you’ll be the creative force connecting sight and sound into one powerful narrative.
Roles and Responsibilities
Shooting & Production(optional)
- Operate DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, lighting setups, and audio equipment.
- Capture interviews, product films, and behind-the-scenes footage with professional framing and sound.
- Support directors during shoots with both technical and creative inputs.
Editing & Post-Production
- Edit live-action and animation projects into final deliverables across platforms.
- Review scripts and raw footage to create a shot decision list, ensuring continuity and impact.
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, VFX, and sound effects.
Motion Graphics & Design
- Create engaging 2D/3D animations, motion graphics, and text animations for marketing and promotional use.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure consistent brand language across edits.
Sound & Color
- Perform audio post-production (basic mixing, syncing, and sound design).
- Apply colour correction and grading to achieve professional, cinematic looks.
AI & Innovation
- Explore and integrate AI-based tools (Runway, Pika, Stable Video, Suno, etc.) to improve workflow and creative output.
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and best practices to maximise efficiency.
Media & Brand
- Manage and archive media assets across projects.
- Curate and maintain the brand’s digital image and social media presence with creative video content.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience: 2-3 years in video production (shooting + editing + motion graphics).
- Proven expertise in both pre-production and post-production.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition) and DaVinci Resolve.
- Skilled in videography, camera handling, lighting, and sound capture.
- Familiarity with contemporary cameras, file formats, codecs, and workflows.
- Good grasp of storytelling, continuity, pacing, and design sense.
- Knowledge of audio post-production (mixing, scoring) is a plus.
- Strong interest or experience in AI-driven video editing and motion graphics.
- Extremely organised, deadline-driven, and able to multitask.
