KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▸ Edit short-form vertical videos (9:16) for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms
▸ Add animated keyword caption highlights (e.g., cyan/teal highlighted words synced to speech)
▸ Design and animate large, bold title cards and intro graphics (e.g., year reveals, hook statements)
▸ Execute fast-paced jump cuts and location cuts to maintain viewer engagement throughout
▸ Colour grade and retouch talking-head footage for polished, professional output
▸ Sync captions and text overlays precisely with the speaker's dialogue
▸ Add background music, sound effects, and audio ducking to enhance the viewer experience
▸ Handle multiple video projects simultaneously and deliver within tight deadlines
▸ Stay updated with trending Instagram Reel formats, transitions, and content styles
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE
Software Proficiency
▸ Adobe Premiere Pro — primary editing, multi-cam, and sequence management
▸ Adobe After Effects — motion graphics, animated text, keyword highlight effects
▸ CapCut Pro — quick social-first edits with built-in caption and text tools
▸ Adobe Audition or similar — audio cleanup, noise reduction, and mixing
▸ Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator — thumbnail design and graphic assets
REQUIREMENTS
▸ Minimum 1 year of hands-on video editing experience (social media portfolio required)
▸ Strong portfolio of Instagram Reels or short-form videos demonstrating the above skills
▸ Ability to work independently and take creative ownership of the editing process
▸ Excellent time management — ability to deliver 5–10 Reels per week
▸ Open to feedback and quick to iterate on revisions
Editing Techniques (Demonstrated in Our Content Style)
▸ Bold, punchy caption overlays with per-word colour highlights (cyan keyword box style)
▸ Animated large-text title cards with stroke/glow effects (e.g., year reveal screens in neon colours)
▸ Speech-synced auto-captions with manual fine-tuning for accuracy in Hindi/English/Hinglish
▸ Fast jump cuts with J/L cuts to remove filler and maintain energy
▸ Scene-to-scene location transitions and background changes within a single continuous narration
▸ Colour correction for outdoor (harsh sunlight) and indoor (office/studio) environments
▸ Subtle zoom and push-in effects synced to emphasize words in dialogue
▸ Music bed mixing with auto-ducking under voiceover
Content & Platform Knowledge
▸ Deep understanding of Instagram Reel best practices, hooks, and retention techniques
▸ Familiarity with trending audio, transitions, and format styles on Instagram and YouTube Shorts
▸ Experience editing Hinglish / bilingual content for Indian audiences
▸ Ability to interpret a speaker's message and enhance it visually to maximise impact
