Film Mechanic Studios is a boutique post-production studio based in Guwahati with credits across Netflix, Apple TV+, and the international festival circuit. We are looking for an Assistant Editor to join full-time, in-studio.
This is a ground-floor role. You will work directly alongside the lead editor on active projects, learning how editorial decisions are made from assembly through fine cut, how a post-production pipeline is managed, and how to build and sustain a career as a freelance editor.
What You Will Do
Organize and manage project files, media, and bins. Assist on active editorial projects across documentary, short film, and brand content. Learn the full post-production workflow from ingest to delivery. Support the lead editor on all stages of the cut.
What We Are Looking For
Working knowledge of at least one of the following: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve. Genuine curiosity about filmmaking and how stories are built in the edit. Someone who asks questions and takes initiative. Based in Guwahati or willing to relocate. No minimum experience required. Attitude and curiosity matter more than a degree.

Compensation
As per experience.
