Defence Reimagined is building a serious knowledge and media platform at the intersection of national security, geopolitics, military affairs, public policy, publishing and strategic thought.
Through podcasts, interviews, short-form videos, event coverage, books and policy conversations, we work to make complex ideas accessible, sharp and engaging for a wider public audience.
We are looking for a Video Editor who can help shape Defence Reimagined’s visual identity and strengthen our content across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and other digital platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who understands storytelling, has a strong sense of pacing, can work with long-form conversations, and knows how to turn serious ideas into engaging video content.
Role responsibilities:
- Edit long-form podcasts, interviews, panel discussions and event recordings
- Create short-form reels, clips and social media videos from long-form content
- Add subtitles, captions, titles, lower thirds and basic motion graphics
- Structure videos for better retention, clarity and audience engagement
- Work on thumbnails, opening hooks and visual packaging for digital platforms
- Organise video files, footage, project folders and export versions properly
- Coordinate with the content, editorial and production team on video requirements
- Support event coverage, speaker clips, promotional videos and highlight reels
- Ensure consistency with Defence Reimagined’s visual style, tone and quality
Who we are looking for:
- Strong command over video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics tools such as After Effects will be an advantage
- Understanding of YouTube, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn video and short-form content formats
- Good sense of storytelling, pacing, sound, framing and visual flow
- Ability to edit serious conversations in a sharp, engaging and polished manner
- Attention to detail in subtitles, audio levels, transitions, graphics and exports
- Interest in defence, geopolitics, current affairs, public policy, history or ideas will be preferred
- Ability to work with deadlines and manage multiple video projects at once
- Prior experience in podcast editing, media production, documentary-style content or news-style videos will be an advantage
