About the Role:
This role is for someone who thinks beyond cuts, transitions, and effects. You should understand how a story flows, when to hold a shot, when to cut, how to build tension, and how to make an audience feel something.
You will work on narrative-driven content such as short films, microdramas, episodic content, fiction-led social content, branded stories, and other entertainment formats.
What You Will Do:
- Edit short films, microdramas, and other storytelling-led content from raw footage to final delivery.
- Shape pacing, rhythm, and emotional flow to make scenes engaging and impactful.
- Make key decisions on shot selection, sequencing, and overall narrative structure.
- Collaborate with directors and writers to bring the intended story to life.
- Enhance storytelling using music, sound, dialogue, and visual elements.
- Refine edits based on feedback while maintaining narrative clarity and intent.
What We Are Looking For:
- 1-3 years of video editing experience, preferably in narrative, film, OTT, or fiction-led content.
- Experience with short films, microdramas, episodic content, or storytelling-driven projects.
- Strong understanding of story structure, pacing, continuity, and visual storytelling.
- Good instinct for when to cut and when to hold a moment.
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Basic understanding of sound design, music, and colour correction.
- Ability to independently turn raw footage into a compelling narrative.
- A portfolio/showreel that reflects storytelling ability, not just technical editing.
Bonus Points:
- Have worked on short films, OTT/episodic content, or fiction-based storytelling.
- Have experience with dialogue-heavy or character-driven edits.
- Understand cinematic language and different editing styles.
- Have a strong sense of music and emotional timing.
- Have worked with directors or creative teams.
- Are open to experimenting with AI-generated or emerging video formats.
