Job details:
Role Overview:
We’re looking for a core video editor who can transform raw, multi-camera event footage into emotionally driven, cinematic stories. This role requires mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, a sharp sense of rhythm, and an instinct for shaping edits around an event’s natural arc: anticipation, build-up, climax, and release.
You’ll be working in fast-paced, unpredictable event environments adapting to evolving footage, tight timelines, and shifting creative direction without losing narrative clarity or emotional impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Storytelling & Editing:
- Craft high-energy event films, show recaps, teasers, and social cuts that feel cinematic — never archival
- Structure edits around emotional progression: pre-event tension, live spectacle, audience reaction, and aftermath
- Identify and elevate hero moments across drone footage, ground cameras, reaction shots, and ambient visuals
Technical Execution:
- Advanced editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve (multi-cam workflows, proxies, colour pipelines)
- Proficient with AI tools (Runway, Midjourney) where creatively appropriate
- Use After Effects for:
- Motion graphics and text systems
- Transitions and visual rhythm
- Apply subtle VFX enhancements when needed — never overdesigned
- Perform audio cleanup, balancing, and basic mastering for clarity, punch, and emotional weight
- Maintain clean project structure, naming conventions, and version control
Event-Driven Workflow
- Manage large volumes of footage under time pressure
- Adapt quickly to last-minute changes, client feedback, and creative pivots
- Collaborate closely with show designers, producers, and marketing teams
- Deliver multiple formats: long-form, short-form, vertical, social, and broadcast-ready
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4-8 years of professional video editing experience (event, brand, or documentary preferred)
- Strong command of Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve
- Deep understanding of pacing, music-driven edits, and emotional timing
- Proven experience handling multi-camera event footage
- Comfortable with sound design, beat matching, and audio polish
- Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality
Creative Expectations:
- You think in sequences, not shots
- You can turn chaos into coherence
- You know when to let a moment breathe — and when to cut hard
- You value restraint over gimmicks
- You match intensity to the moment, not the toolset
Nice to Have:
- Experience editing large-scale events, concerts, sports, or live shows
- Basic colour grading knowledge (Rec.709 workflows, LUTs, consistency)
- Familiarity with social-first storytelling formats
- Comfort working during peak event seasons
What This Role Is (and Isn’t):
This role is:
- Story-driven
- High-pressure, high-impact
- Central to how the brand is perceived
This role is not:
- Template-based editing
- Repetitive corporate video work
- A slow, predictable post-production environment
