VP – Engineering, Platform & Infrastructure

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary technology leader for the role of VP – Engineering, Platform & Infrastructure. This role will lead global platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, integrations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and developer productivity functions while driving operational excellence and organizational scale.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, DevOps, and engineering transformation, along with a proven ability to build high-performing engineering organizations in fast-growth SaaS environments. This leader will play a pivotal role in shaping technology strategy, strengthening engineering culture, and enabling scalable, reliable, and secure product ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Platform Leadership
- Lead global teams across platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, integrations, SRE, DevOps, and developer productivity functions.
- Define and execute long-term platform and infrastructure strategies focused on scalability, reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
- Drive modernization initiatives across engineering platforms, tooling, infrastructure, and operational frameworks.
- Ensure technical foundations effectively support rapid business growth and product innovation.
Cloud Infrastructure & Reliability
- Oversee AWS cloud infrastructure operations, architecture, governance, and optimization initiatives.
- Drive operational excellence across cloud operations, service reliability, observability, incident response, and disaster recovery.
- Establish scalable and resilient distributed systems capable of supporting global product ecosystems.
- Implement best practices for infrastructure automation, monitoring, security, and performance management.
Developer Productivity & Engineering Excellence
- Improve engineering velocity through internal platforms, developer tooling, automation, and process optimization.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and engineering productivity frameworks.
- Build mature operational processes including on-call management, incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote adoption of modern engineering best practices, emerging technologies, and cloud-native architectures.
Organizational Leadership & Transformation
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing global engineering teams and leadership structures.
- Lead organizational transformation initiatives during periods of rapid growth and scaling.
- Develop senior engineering leaders and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance engineering culture.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams.
Strategic & Executive Collaboration
- Partner with executive leadership to define technology vision, roadmap priorities, and long-term engineering strategies.
- Influence platform architecture and engineering investments at organizational and board levels.
- Support global organizational alignment and collaboration, potentially serving as a key leadership presence for India operations.
- Align technology decisions with business objectives, customer outcomes, and operational scalability goals.
Talent & Culture Development
- Recruit, retain, and develop senior engineering talent across global teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, ownership, and continuous learning.
- Strengthen leadership capability across engineering functions through mentorship and organizational development initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of engineering experience with at least 7+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading distributed engineering organizations within SaaS or cloud-native environments.
- Deep expertise in AWS, distributed systems, cloud operations, DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure engineering.
- Strong experience scaling engineering organizations during high-growth transformation phases.
- Expertise in integrations, platform engineering, service reliability, developer tooling, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong understanding of operational excellence, reliability engineering, and cloud governance frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience influencing technology strategy and engineering direction at executive leadership levels.
- Strong business acumen with strategic and long-range planning capability.
