Vice President of AI Engineering (Agentic AI & Generative AI)
Location: Bangalore
Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary AI Engineering leader to lead large-scale Agentic AI systems and Generative AI platforms. This role demands a rare blend of deep technical expertise, AI-first product thinking, and enterprise-scale engineering leadership. You will own the architecture, execution, and evolution of AI-driven platforms, transforming business workflows through autonomous agents, LLM-powered systems, and intelligent decision engines.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Agentic AI and Generative AI engineering strategy from copilots to autonomous agents.
- Lead the design of autonomous AI agents, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, including RAG pipelines, vector databases, agentic workflows, and multimodal AI.
- Drive adoption of LLM, including RAG architectures, fine-tuning, prompt orchestration, memory systems, and agent planning.
- Establish best practices for AI safety, Responsible AI, governance,, observability, evaluation, and cost optimization.
- Partner closely with Product, Data, and Research teams to translate AI innovation into production-grade systems.
- Build and scale large multi-disciplinary engineering teams (Backend, Platform, AI/ML, Infra, DevOps).
- Mentor senior leaders (VPs, Directors, Staff Engineers) and build a strong engineering leadership bench.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Drive execution through OKRs, delivery metrics, and engineering health indicators.
- Act as a strategic partner to C-suite and Board, translating AI capabilities into business outcomes.
- Lead build vs buy decisions, vendor partnerships, and AI ecosystem collaborations.
- Support go-to-market strategies by enabling AI-led differentiation and scale.
- You’ll lead a team of AI Scientists, ML Engineers, and Researchers, and collaborate deeply with product and engineering.
Qualifications
- Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide ML and Gen AI architectures, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goal.
- Lead the end-to-end development & deployment of Gen AI initiatives, from ideation and PoC to deployment and scaling.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and lead the creation of reusable Gen AI assets, accelerators, and frameworks.
- Oversee the seamless deployment of Gen AI models across platforms, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous integration and delivery of AI solutions, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
- Establish and enforce governance policies, standards, and best practices for AI architecture and deployment, ensuring adherence to data privacy and ethical guidelines.
- Mentor and lead a technical team and architects fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions and drive adoption.
- Act as the central point of coordination among business lines, technology teams, and clients to ensure consistent delivery outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for innovation within the AI domain, focusing on the development of reusable assets and tools.
