The Vice President – Financial Reporting will lead statutory and client‑specific reporting production, ensure rigorous control and compliance, drive continuous improvement, and manage a high‑performing team. The role demands deep FR expertise, strong leadership, solid risk‑and‑control knowledge, and excellent communication skills, complemented by a master’s‑level education and extensive industry experience. Preferred candidates bring additional AI‑tool experience, change‑management capability, and multilingual abilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver statutory and client‑specific reports – Produce annual, semi‑annual, quarterly, liquidation, merger and dissolution reports on time, adhering to all legal and jurisdictional requirements.
- Plan, coordinate & monitor delivery – Define the reporting timetable, allocate daily tasks to the team, and ensure draft and final versions meet agreed deadlines.
- Control‑centric reporting – Execute and document all required controls, complete the control checklist, and perform a second‑level review of statements prepared by third‑party providers.
- Client & audit liaison – Gather supporting documentation, incorporate auditor and client comments, manage the common e‑mail inbox, and maintain proactive client‑relationship management with senior stakeholders.
- Compliance & risk governance – Enforce a zero‑breach compliance culture, maintain risk‑mitigation documentation, oversee incident‑management protocols, and drive audit activities toward zero findings.
- Performance & KPI management – Track and achieve process KPIs consistently, and report on performance against efficiency targets.
- Continuous improvement & exception handling – Lead process‑improvement initiatives, implement robust exception‑handling procedures, and regularly review and optimise workflows for cost and efficiency gains.
- Team leadership & engagement – Provide technical oversight of the Financial Reporting/Fund Services function, demonstrate strong organisational and people‑management skills, and foster a positive, motivating environment that retains and develops talent.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
- Education & Experience – Master’s (or equivalent) in Economics, Finance or related field; 15 + years professional experience, including 10 + years in Financial Reporting with end‑to‑end exposure to mutual‑fund accounting.
- Technical Expertise – Deep knowledge of fund‑accounting, NAV cycle, and upstream functions (Middle Office, Pricing, Corporate Actions, Transfer Agency); proficient with the NADI platform and MFFA.
- Risk & Control Mastery – Strong grasp of BNP Paribas/Securities Services control frameworks; proven ability to design, document and monitor controls, and to lead internal/external audits with zero findings.
- Process & Project Leadership – Track record of continuous‑improvement initiatives, cost optimisation, and efficiency gains; solid project‑management skills (planning, execution, monitoring).
- People & Culture Management – Demonstrated success in hiring, training, and supervising teams; ability to inspire, influence, and retain talent while fostering an engaging, positive work environment.
- Organisational & Prioritisation Skills – Exceptional organisational ability to plan, prioritise, and allocate work across complex reporting cycles.
- Advanced Analytics/AI Exposure – Experience applying artificial‑intelligence tools to boost productivity and streamline reporting processes (highly valued for this role).
- Communication & Stakeholder Influence – Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of presenting complex concepts clearly and challenging client‑specific customisations to achieve optimal solutions.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with implementing AI‑driven tools for productivity gains; deeper knowledge of BNP Paribas proprietary platforms.
- Prior exposure to securities services, specifically fund services, within a global banking environment.
- Fluency in English (mandatory) and additional proficiency in a European language (e.g., French, German, Italian) is advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ICAEW are desirable but not required.
