Role Overview
Sureify is seeking a highly operational and execution-focused Vice President of Client Engineering to lead our Hyderabad-based Client Engineering organization. Reporting to the VP of Professional Services, this leader will oversee a team of 100+ client engineers responsible for client implementations, integrations, configuration, and technical execution across strategic client programs.
This role partners closely with Delivery Managers and cross-functional leadership to ensure successful execution, strong delivery performance, and scalable operational maturity across the Client Engineering organization.
The VP of Client Engineering will be accountable for improving execution velocity, engineering throughput, quality, predictability, and organizational accountability while building a high-performance culture centered on ownership, urgency, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will also bring a modern approach to engineering operations, including the practical application of AI-enabled development and delivery practices to improve productivity, accelerate execution, enhance quality, and increase organizational efficiency at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engineering Leadership
- Lead and scale Sureify’s Hyderabad-based Client Engineering organization.
- Drive execution across client implementations, integrations, configuration, and technical delivery initiatives.
- Establish high standards for engineering execution, delivery quality, responsiveness, and operational rigor.
- Ensure teams consistently meet delivery commitments, timelines, and client expectations.
Delivery Execution & Operational Performance
- Partner closely with Delivery Managers to ensure alignment between delivery planning and engineering execution.
- Improve delivery velocity, execution predictability, throughput, and engineering efficiency.
- Establish operational KPIs, reporting frameworks, and execution governance across the Client Engineering organization.
- Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks impacting execution quality and speed.
- Drive accountability across engineering leadership and delivery teams through measurable outcomes and performance management.
Engineering Productivity & AI Enablement
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering and delivery practices to improve productivity, quality, and execution speed across the Client Engineering organization.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI tooling, automation, and workflow optimization to reduce manual effort and increase engineering throughput.
- Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to establish scalable best practices for AI-assisted development, delivery operations, testing, documentation, and support workflows.
- Ensure AI adoption is practical, measurable, secure, and aligned with delivery quality and client expectations.
- Establish performance metrics and operational benchmarks to evaluate productivity improvements and organizational impact.
Organizational Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders.
- Build organizational scalability and strengthen leadership depth within the Hyderabad operation.
- Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with recruiting and HR teams to attract and retain top engineering talent.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product, Product Engineering, Client Delivery, Client Support Services, and Professional Services leadership teams.
- Align engineering execution priorities with client commitments and company objectives.
- Improve coordination and communication across globally distributed teams.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for delivery execution and operational challenges.
Operational Excellence
- Implement scalable operational processes supporting rapid organizational growth.
- Drive continuous improvement across staffing, resource allocation, execution management, and delivery operations.
- Establish data-driven operational reviews and leadership cadences.
- Champion automation, tooling improvements, and process optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience leading large-scale engineering delivery or client engineering organizations.
- Proven experience managing organizations of 100+ engineers within offshore or global delivery environments.
- Strong track record improving execution performance, operational rigor, engineering throughput, and accountability.
- Experience leading client-facing engineering or implementation organizations within enterprise SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated success scaling distributed engineering teams while maintaining high standards for execution and quality.
- Strong leadership, organizational management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth technology organizations.
- Deep understanding of engineering operations, implementation delivery, resource planning, and execution governance.
- Experience collaborating closely with delivery management organizations preferred.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled productivity initiatives within engineering or delivery organizations preferred.
- Insurance, fintech, or enterprise platform experience preferred.
