Role Description The Vice President – Admission is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing and directing the admissions function across Velammal Educational Trust institutions. This role involves developing and implementing admission strategies, setting annual enrollment targets, and ensuring transparent, efficient, and student-centered admission processes. The Vice President will lead and mentor admission teams, monitor application pipelines, coordinate entrance assessments and interviews, and ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing enrollment data, collaborating with academic and administrative leaders, managing communication with prospective students and families, and enhancing the overall applicant experience. The role also includes representing the trust at outreach events, building relationships with external partners and feeder institutions, and driving continuous improvement in admission systems and practices.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience building and guiding high-performing admission or enrollment teams.
- Expertise in admission strategy, enrollment planning, and process optimization, including data-driven decision-making and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, families, and internal leadership.
- Proficiency in using admission management systems, CRM tools, and basic data analytics to track and improve conversion and retention metrics.
- Experience in educational administration or institutional management, preferably within large school or higher-education networks.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple campuses, deadlines, and priorities.
- Master’s degree in Education, Management, Administration, or a related field; significant relevant leadership experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degrees.
- Knowledge of regional education regulations and admission norms in Tamil Nadu and familiarity with best practices in inclusive and non-discriminatory admission policies.
