About the Role
The Vice President – Fund Accounting will own end-to-end delivery for a portfolio of hedge fund or private equity clients. This includes administration agreements, NAV review and sign-off, financial statements, transaction authorization, portfolio valuation, performance reporting, workflow management, and SLA governance. The role will lead resource planning, control adherence, audit and year-end coordination, client onboarding, migrations, and issue escalation. Success requires balancing operational accuracy, timely delivery, cost discipline, and strong client relationships. The leader will partner with internal teams and the Supervisor to strengthen training, performance management, and continuous improvement. Through clear operating routines and accountable decision-making, this role will improve delivery reliability, protect control standards, and support sustainable client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own administration services for hedge fund or private equity clients, ensuring obligations under administration agreements translate into accurate, timely, and controlled deliverables.
- Review and sign off NAV calculations, financial statements, associated reports, portfolio valuations, and performance or P&L outputs before client release.
- Authorize payments and transactions while maintaining appropriate controls, documentation, approvals, and escalation discipline across the fund accounting operating model.
- Plan daily workflows, allocate resources, and monitor deliverables to achieve high SLA compliance, accuracy standards, production capacity, overtime control, and cost efficiency.
- Lead year-end coordination across audits, financial statement preparation, regulatory filings, tax services, and related client timelines to prevent avoidable delays or control gaps.
- Build effective partnerships with COE, Operational Support, Middle Office, Pricing, Investor Relations, Relationship Management, and Fund Accounting teams to resolve dependencies and improve service outcomes.
- Escalate material NAV or client relationship issues promptly, providing clear analysis, impact assessment, decisions required, and follow-through until closure.
- Own team leadership activities, onboarding, migrations, training, vacation planning, appraisals, departmental initiatives, and continuous improvement while preserving adequate operational controls.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong fund accounting expertise across hedge funds or private equity, including NAV production, valuation, financial statements, performance analysis, transaction processing, and client reporting.
- Proven leadership in high-volume financial services operations, with the ability to manage complex workflows, competing deadlines, resource deployment, service levels, and cost expectations.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, internal controls, best-practice policies, client-specific agreements, audit requirements, regulatory filings, tax services, and issue escalation.
- Advanced analytical and review capability to identify valuation, NAV, reporting, payment, and process exceptions before they affect clients or downstream stakeholders.
- Effective stakeholder management across COE and non-COE teams, including Middle Office, Pricing, Investor Relations, Relationship Management, Operational Support, and Fund Accounting.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain material issues, drive decisions, influence partners, and maintain confidence during complex service events.
Additional Plus
- Experience leading intra-office migrations, new client onboarding, operating model transitions, or large-scale fund administration change initiatives.
- Demonstrated success delivering process efficiencies and continuous improvement without weakening controls, accuracy, auditability, or client-specific service commitments.
- Experience developing supervisors and team members through structured coaching, on-the-job training, performance reviews, and accountable ownership of team outcomes.
What You'll Bring
- 8–15 years of experience in financial services, preferably within a high-volume operational environment and hedge fund or private equity administration.
- Deep practical knowledge of fund accounting and the ability to review, challenge, and sign off NAV calculations, valuations, financial statements, reports, payments, and performance outputs.
- Leadership maturity to manage daily delivery, resource deployment, workload prioritization, SLA performance, accuracy standards, overtime, and cost management across a client portfolio.
- Strong judgment in identifying material issues, assessing business and client impact, escalating decisively, and coordinating resolution across multiple internal teams.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while translating agreements, controls, and service expectations into consistent operating performance.
- Experience coordinating year-end audits, financial statement preparation, regulatory filings, tax services, and other time-sensitive deliverables with clear ownership and governance.
- People leadership capability across training, vacation management, performance appraisals, coaching, team development, and succession-oriented capability building.

Why Join Us
This role provides the opportunity to own a broad and consequential part of the fund administration lifecycle. You will influence how hedge fund or private equity clients experience accuracy, responsiveness, control, and operational reliability. The position combines senior review authority with practical ownership of workflows, resources, client commitments, and team capability.
You will work across a connected network of fund accounting, operational, pricing, middle-office, investor relations, relationship management, and support teams. That exposure creates the scope to solve issues at their source rather than manage isolated handoffs. Your decisions will shape SLA performance, control quality, cost discipline, client confidence, and the scalability of delivery.
The role is suited to a leader who wants to improve the operating model while protecting the fundamentals: accurate NAV production, dependable reporting, timely transactions, strong governance, and disciplined escalation. It offers meaningful ownership of onboarding, migrations, year-end execution, people development, and continuous improvement within a high-volume financial services environment.
What We Offer
- Broad ownership across fund administration, NAV governance, valuation, reporting, client delivery, audit coordination, onboarding, migrations, and operational improvement.
- Senior visibility through close partnership with cross-functional teams and accountability for service quality, control adherence, resource effectiveness, and client outcomes.
- An environment where experienced leaders can develop teams, improve processes, and drive efficiencies while maintaining accuracy, governance, and dependable delivery.
