Role Overview:

The Vice President, Derivatives Operations Technology, is accountable for the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of technology solutions supporting Derivatives Operations across Middle Office, Confirmations, and Settlements. This role provides senior leadership across both BAU and change initiatives on the Murex platform, ensuring solutions are operationally robust, well-controlled, and aligned with business priorities.

The VP acts as a key interface between Operations, Technology, and external partners, driving execution while maintaining strong governance, delivery discipline, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Delivery & Platform Ownership:

• Own end-to-end technology delivery for Derivatives Operations on the Murex platform, spanning Middle Office, Confirmations, and Settlements.

• Set direction and priorities for BAU enhancements, remediation, and project initiatives, balancing operational stability with strategic change.

• Ensure Murex configurations, workflows, and reporting solutions are scalable, well-designed, and aligned with long-term platform strategy.

Stakeholder & Business Partnership:

• Act as a senior technology partner to Derivatives Operations, translating business objectives, control requirements, and regulatory needs into effective technology solutions.

• Provide clear communication to senior stakeholders on delivery status, risks, dependencies, and decision points.

• Drive alignment across Operations, Finance IT, and vendor partners to ensure cohesive execution.

Governance, Controls & Risk Management:

• Ensure technology solutions meet operational control, audit, and regulatory expectations, including documentation, testing, and evidence standards.

• Oversee production incident management, root-cause analysis, and remediation to reduce repeat issues and operational risk.

• Establish and enforce delivery and support standards, including handover to L1/L2 support and knowledge management.

Delivery Execution & Oversight:

• Provide senior oversight of analysis, development, testing, and release activities across BAU and project workstreams.

• Ensure disciplined testing practices (functional, integration, regression, UAT) and high-quality releases.

• Monitor delivery progress, resource utilization, and execution risks, intervening where necessary to ensure outcomes.

Team Leadership & Capability Building:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of internal staff and consultants, setting clear expectations around accountability and execution.

• Build strong delivery culture focused on ownership, quality, and end-to-end accountability.

• Partner with vendors and consultants to ensure effective engagement models and value delivery.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Deep experience in Derivatives Operations Technology, with strong coverage of Middle Office, Confirmations, and Settlements.

• Proven senior-level delivery experience on the Murex platform, including configuration, workflow design, and production support.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex BAU and change portfolios in a high-control, high-availability environment.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience communicating to senior business and technology leadership.

Key Leadership Attributes:

• Strategic yet hands-on delivery mindset.

• Strong ownership and accountability orientation.

• Clear, concise executive communication.

• Ability to operate effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
