About the role
Job Overview:As a Python FastAPI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining fast and scalable web APIs using FastAPI. You will collaborate with other developers, data engineers, and architects to deliver features that directly impact the business. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our applications run efficiently while meeting the highest standards for performance, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and micro-services using FastAPI.
Work with Python-based frameworks and libraries to design robust backend architectures.
Integrate third-party services and APIs for data processing and other functionalities.
Collaborate with frontend developers to implement new features and ensure seamless integration.
Write unit tests and ensure code quality and performance optimisation.
Debug and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring uptime and minimal service disruptions.
Continuously evaluate and improve the performance, scalability, and security of APIs.
Contribute to the architecture and design of backend systems and database solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest trends in FastAPI and Python development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proficient in Python (3.x).
Strong experience with FastAPI framework for building high-performance APIs.
Experience with asynchronous programming using Python (async/await).
Solid understanding of RESTful API principles and web services architecture.
Experience with database integration (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
Experience with SQLAlchemy for ORM needs with FastAPI.
Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Experience with API testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Postman).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
