Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Veterinary Surgeon (MVSC) role based in Chennai. The Veterinary Surgeon will perform routine and advanced surgical procedures, provide pre-operative and post-operative care, and manage anesthesia and pain control for companion animals. Daily responsibilities include clinical examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing medical management of patients, in coordination with the veterinary team. The role involves maintaining accurate medical records, supervising laboratory investigations where needed, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and animal welfare standards. The Veterinary Surgeon will also educate pet caregivers on preventive healthcare, collaborate with internal stakeholders and partner clinics, and contribute to continuous improvement of clinical services.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical expertise in Veterinary Medicine and Medicine, with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions.
- Proficiency in Veterinary Surgery, including soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, and sound knowledge of surgical principles.
- Competence in Laboratory Skills related to veterinary diagnostics and interpretation of test results.
- Experience and empathy in Pet Care, including preventive health, nutrition, and behavioral guidance.
- MVSC (Master of Veterinary Science) or equivalent advanced veterinary qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid veterinary registration/license as per local regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and counseling skills for working with caregivers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, with sound decision-making and ethical practice.
- Prior experience in small animal practice or hospital settings in urban environments is an advantage.
