We are an AI-enabled veterinary telemedicine platform committed to making professional pet care accessible to every pet owner in India, regardless of geography or time of day. Our platform connects pet owners with qualified veterinary surgeons through structured virtual consultations, providing expert clinical guidance around the clock.
We operate on the belief that quality veterinary advice should not be restricted by location, working hours, or proximity to a clinic.
We are building a high-quality, responsive veterinary telemedicine service providing 24/7 support to pet owners across India. We are now recruiting a small team of reliable, clinically strong vets to form our core out-of-hours (OOH) team.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Veterinary Surgeon (Remote) is a core clinical position delivering safe, evidence-based veterinary consultations to pet owners across India through our digital platform. The successful candidate will operate as part of a small, cohesive team responsible for maintaining uninterrupted 24/7 clinical coverage.
This is not a conventional clinic role. It requires clinical confidence, sound independent judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively under pressure, without the benefit of physical examination. The role is fully remote and conducted exclusively via our platform (VIDTU).
REPORTING & STRUCTURE

Department: Veterinary Operations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct structured virtual consultations with pet owners via the VIDTU platform, providing clear and clinically sound advice.
- Assess patient history, reported symptoms, and owner observations to reach a working clinical assessment where appropriate.
- Issue prescriptions and clinical recommendations in strict accordance with the organisation's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Escalate cases appropriately where in-person intervention, emergency referral, or specialist input is required.
- Document each consultation accurately and in a timely manner within the platform's clinical records system.
- Maintain a professional, empathetic, and clear standard of communication with pet owners, many of whom may be anxious or distressed.
- Contribute to shift handovers and maintain continuity of care across the team.
- Adhere to all clinical, regulatory, and organisational policies at all times.
- Participate in periodic clinical reviews, case discussions, and service improvement initiatives as required.
WORKING PATTERN & ROTA
The role operates on a structured 6-week rolling rota designed to ensure fair and predictable shift distribution across the team.
Shifts:
Day Shift- 08:00 – 16:00- ₹200 per consult
Evening shift- 16:00 – 00:00- ₹300 per consult
Night Shift- 00:00 – 08:00- ₹500 per consult
- 5 shifts per week during working weeks, each shift 8 hours in duration.
- 1 full week off in every 6-week cycle, constituting part of annual leave entitlement.
- Night shifts and weekends are distributed equitably across all team members.
- Shift swaps are permitted subject to prior approval and maintenance of team coverage.
COMPENSATION
- Base salary: ₹30,000 per month (retainer for rota commitment and availability).
- Per-consult earnings paid in addition to base salary, as detailed in the rota table above. Eg: Typical early-stage earnings*: ₹70,000 – ₹90,000 per month.
*Earnings are directly linked to consultation volume and clinical engagement. As platform demand grows, earning potential increases accordingly.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are requested to meet the criteria’s below:
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) from a recognised university (State or Central).
- Valid registration with the relevant State Veterinary Council or equivalent statutory body.
- Minimum 1 year of post-qualification clinical experience in small animal practice.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English; ability to communicate clinical information clearly to a non-clinical audience.
- Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable working device (tablet or laptop minimum).
- Willingness and confirmed ability to work a rotating 24/7 shift pattern, inclusive of nights and weekends.
PREFERRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Prior experience in telemedicine, teleconsultation, or remote clinical advisory roles.
- Demonstrated competence in small animal clinical decision-making, particularly in the absence of physical examination.
- Emotional intelligence and composure when engaging with distressed or anxious pet owners.
- A patient-centred approach to consultation, prioritising clarity, safety, and owner understanding.
- Comfort with digital platforms and clinical documentation systems.
- A proactive attitude towards clinical governance, self-audit, and continuous improvement.
INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must maintain the following throughout their employment, at their own provision:
- High-speed, stable broadband internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps recommended).
- A functional tablet or laptop device capable of running video and platform software without interruption.
- A quiet, private working environment suitable for conducting confidential clinical consultations.
