Quality Technician - 1st Shift

6:00 am to 2:15 pm (Monday-Friday) 

$17.50/hr.    

Position Summary:

Performs quality inspections and audits in accordance with quality assurance program guidelines to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Collects, and maintains, quality-related data to identify trends and conditions that may negatively impact the quality of the product.
2. Completes hourly inspections of product being produced on the line
3. Performs inspection of incoming material and works with personnel to identify; isolate and trouble shoot quality related concerns.
4. Performs thorough inspection of all material prior to machine start up and between changeovers.
5. Assists the production lines as the Quality Assurance resource for all issues pertaining to the quality of the product.
6. Reports quality issues to management.
7. Maintains all quality records and documentation.
8. Reports on, documents and reviews product and material in quality assurance hold area.
9. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
10. Makes recommendations to stop production based on quality or maintenance issues.
11. Continually checks product and process to ensure all specified requirements are met.
12. Assists in production line set up and during changeovers as needed.
13. Provides feedback to other line workers regarding Quality issues.
14. Strives for continuous improvements in production process.

Job Specifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior quality experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred but not required.
3. Willingness to train in FSC22000, Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing.
4. Ability to work under pressure and follow specific instructions thoroughly and accurately.
5. Computer Skills, email, excel
6. Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures.
7. Good understanding of ruler, calipers and thickness gauge.

Provides fulfillment, packaging, warehousing, and transportation services to brands.
