The Mailroom General Clerk II position at Military Sealift Command (MSC) in Norfolk is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the smooth and efficient operation of the MSC Mailroom. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role is part of a small team of Contractors in supporting MSC’s Mail & Supply Operations. Provide general administrative support by managing correspondence, maintaining files, and organizing documents. 2. Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members. 3. Operate the company vans to deliver, as well as pick up, mail & supplies to and from multiple buildings across Naval Station Norfolk. Please note candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as well as utilize stairs in execution of these duties. 4. Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and databases to track and monitor various office activities. 5. Procure and maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring inventory levels are maintained. 6. Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently. 7. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and requests promptly and professionally 8. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations. 9. Adhere to established procedures, policies, and guidelines to maintain safety, confidentiality, and data security.   Requirements: 1. High school diploma is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2. A valid drivers’ license is required to operate the company vans. 2. Proven experience as a General Clerk, Mail Clerk, or in a similar logistics role. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). 4. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 6. Detail-oriented and possessing a high level of accuracy in regard to data entry and record-keeping. 7. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment. 8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting. 9. Familiarity with military or government administrative processes and systems is preferred. 10. This position requires an Active Secret security clearance or the ability to pass a Government investigation to obtain a Secret clearance. Please note obtaining at minimum an Interim Secret Clearance is required before receiving a start date for this position.
