Senior Software Engineer

Ready to build something awesome from the ground up? Venu is shaking up the loyalty game! We're a venture-backed startup building a revolutionary loyalty management system that runs entirely on payment terminals – no extra apps or cards needed. We're launching in Australia and New Zealand, with customers including one of new Zealand's largest coffee chains and Australia's second largest bar chain. We're gaining traction fast, and now we need our crucial first engineering hire to help us build the future. That's where you come in. We're looking for a talented and adaptable Senior Software Engineer to join our small, dynamic team (currently just 3!). Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and scaling the entire Venu platform. What you'll be doing: Dive headfirst into building and shaping our core product. Write clean, efficient, and testable code in Golang for our backend services. Develop slick user interfaces using React. Work with MySQL databases to manage our data effectively. Get involved with our payment terminal software (Android/Kotlin) and mobile applications (React Native). Collaborate closely with the CTO to define architecture, features, and technical direction. Own features from concept to deployment. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise performance across the platform. Use AI tools like Cursor to move quickly. Basically, wear multiple hats and help us build Venu into a world-class product!
