About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Vehicle & Equipment Manager to oversee our fleet and construction equipment operations across active project sites. You will lead a small team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations — this is a role for someone who leads from the front, not just from the desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a small team of drivers, operators, and mechanics while being hands-on in daily operations yourself
- Oversee and personally contribute to fleet maintenance, equipment checks, and site coordination as needed
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend equipment life
- Maintain accurate records of all equipment, service history, compliance documentation, and insurance renewals
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and statutory requirements related to vehicle and equipment operation
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field
- 5–10 years of experience in fleet and construction equipment management
- Comfortable working both in a supervisory and hands-on capacity
- Strong knowledge of construction vehicles and heavy plant machinery (excavators, cranes, dumpers, etc.)
- Proficiency in fleet management systems and maintenance scheduling tools
- Strong analytical and cost-control skills; ability to prepare equipment budgets and utilisation reports
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with project managers and site engineers
