Job Description: Document Migration Analyst (Life Sciences)
Experience: 5–8 years
Job Summary
We are seeking a Document Migration Analyst to support the transition from a legacy Document Management System (DMS) to a new platform for our client. The role involves analyzing document structures, metadata, and workflows, defining migration requirements, and supporting validation and execution. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, hands-on DMS experience, and the ability to collaborate across business, IT, and quality teams in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analysis & Planning
- Assess legacy DMS including document volumes, metadata schemas, folder structures, security models, and workflows
- Define migration strategy, data mapping rules, and classification models
- Identify data quality issues and recommend cleansing approaches
- Document business and system requirements for migration
2. Migration Execution Support
- Collaborate with technical teams to validate migration scripts, mapping logic, and test loads
- Prepare and execute UAT scenarios for migrated content
- Validate document completeness, accuracy, and metadata integrity
- Track, analyze, and resolve migration defects with IT and vendors
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain migration artifacts (mapping logs, validation reports, SOP updates, configuration documents)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and data integrity standards (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11)
- Support audit readiness and quality assessments
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Engage with business users to understand document lifecycle and metadata requirements
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, Manufacturing, IT)
- Support user training and onboarding to the new DMS
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience in Document Management Systems (e.g., Veeva Vault, OpenText, Documentum, SharePoint)
- Strong expertise in data mapping, metadata analysis, and migration projects
- Familiarity with content structuring, taxonomy design, and information architecture
- Strong documentation and analytical skills
Domain & Compliance
- Understanding of GxP, regulatory documentation, and data integrity standards
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated industries
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in DMS, migration, or business analysis roles
- Prior experience in system migration projects is mandatory
