Exciting Opportunity for Senior Leaders

The power vertical is set to operate as a standalone entity, encompassing the 5GW and total design of 10GW power plant with plans to expand into nuclear, hydro energy, etc. India’s GDP and power demand are set to double by 2030, creating a huge opportunity for Vedanta Power, a leading thermal power generator. With a total installed capacity of 4780 MW in its fold, Vedanta Power is among the top private players in the thermal sector. Our growth roadmap includes various greenfield and brownfield expansion in the coming years.

We are looking for a visionary leader with an ownership mindset and strategic thinking, along with a proven track record, to spearhead end-to-end expansion. This will involve identifying and designing the right location, aligning the business model, and securing approval from stakeholders. The leader will proactively engage with governments, lock in end-to-end business partners, and develop a team to envisage and execute the growth expansion plan for Vedanta Power, aiming to add another 5GW by expanding the capacity of VLCTPP, Meenakshi, BALCO Expansion, and Tuticorin & MALCO.

Key Responsibilities

• Identifying and designing for the right location, business model aligned and approved by the stakeholders.
• Creating a plan for end-to-end contracting with best in class business partners.
• Stakeholder management with government and community to drive projects success.
• Focused delivery and timely project execution within budget ensuring quality standards.
• Exploring cost effective coal sourcing avenues and best-in-class logistics infra in the initial phase of the project only.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in power evacuation processes and power sales strategies.
• Proven experience in obtaining all necessary regulatory and internal approvals for power projects.
• The candidate should have techno-commercial acumen.
