About the role

We are seeking an experienced Agronomist to lead our regenerative cotton farming initiatives in Maharashtra. The role focuses on designing and implementing sustainable cotton cultivation practices, improving soil health, and supporting carbon project development.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implement regenerative and climate-resilient cotton farming practices.
  • Supervise and conduct farmer training, field trials, and capacity-building programs.
  • Collect and analyze agronomic data to support Monitoring, Reporting Verification (MRV) frameworks.
  • Work closely with carbon, sustainability, and impact teams to integrate field insights.
  • Develop technical content: SOPs, training manuals, and project reports.
  • Engage with farmers, FPOs, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.



Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Agronomy, Agriculture, or Soil Science.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainable or regenerative cotton projects (preferably in Maharashtra or other Indian cotton belts).
    • Strong understanding of cotton agronomy, soil health, and sustainable farming.
    • Experience working with farmers and rural communities.
    • Effective communication skills in Marathi, Hindi, and English.

    Preferred

    • Experience in carbon farming, MRV systems, and certification schemes.
    • Familiarity with GIS, remote sensing, or digital agri-tools.
