Description:
The Integration and Test Engineer shall support the Hubble Integrated Test Team (HITT) activities for coordinating, scheduling and testing ground system software upgrades, Project Database updates, provide Vehicle Electrical Systems Test (Facility) (VEST) Test Support to both external and internal users as needed to support ongoing HST Mission, including, but not limited to, pre-test power up and post test power down of components of VEST Facility support and other testing as assigned.
System Integration and Test (I&T) shall provide independent systems verification and validation of all HST Operational components of the ground system to include: CCS releases, simulator upgrades, Project Reference Database (PRD) deliveries, Space Network Access System (SNAS) and other ground system or network modifications. The team shall support the validation of interfaces to the HST ground system such as NASA institutional support systems, STScI components and internal HST Project interfaces. Systems I&T shall provide support for the preparation, execution and reporting of Operations Acceptance Tests (OATs) and Engineering Tests to verify and validate flight software releases, spacecraft configuration changes, contingency procedure development and anomaly resolution testing.
The Integration & Test Engineer is qualified and responsible for performing the following activities:
- define, outline and plan test programs,
- coordinate test schedules,
- schedule test resources,
- write test plans, procedures, and test reports,
- conduct procedure/script reviews,
- prepare and present Test Readiness Reviews and Test Debrief presentations,
- perform test execution, analyze test results and report anomalies,
- interface and provide feed back directly to the customer,
- support on-call duties
Position Requirements
Experience:
The Integration and Test Engineer is required to have a minimum of a 4-year degree. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years or combined education and work experience is required.
