The Operator Mechanic is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing regular maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of all machinery.
- Ability to use and safely operate hand and power tools. Familiar with Lockout Tagout procedures
Competencies & Skill Requirements, Continued
- Willingness to cross train in other areas of the facility to fulfill other assignments when needed
- Willingness to learn and adapt to maintenance procedure and have a strong work ethic
- Previous experience in the food production industry a plus
- Bilingual skills a plus
- Forklift certification a plus
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays
- Ability to work in elevated or cramped areas
- The position involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Work Environment
This is a food manufacturing facility. The environment may vary from warm to wet, to cold, to freezing, depending where you are in the plant.
