Overall Purpose of The Job
- Coordination of all technical activities, including, but not limited to, assigned projects, including the preparation of proposals, project schedules and co-ordination of all the agreed engineering work at planning, preparation, execution and close-out phases.
- To ensure that all work is conducted in full compliance with all applicable codes, engineering practices and in full compliance with V. Group standards and V.Dockings process.
- To be responsible and accountable for ensuring that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities in accordance with other project participants and that contract requirements are being satisfied.
- To progressively develop project management capability through structured exposure to planning discipline, data control, stakeholder coordination, and execution support, preparing to take up a future Project Manager role.
Contribution to V. Group Strategy and Values
- Assuring V. Group capabilities, compliance, and commitment to outstanding service delivery
- Collaborating with Group, Business Unit, and Operational teams to drive proper planning, and safe operations in dry-docks
- Assuring effective data governance by collecting, maintaining dry dock project information updated in Group’s digital platforms to support data driven decisions by Group.
- Professional representation of V. at all times to customers and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent and efficient dockings for V.Ships and 3rd parties, in line with V.Dockings processes
- Continually reinforcing collaboration and close working relationships between V.Group and V.Ships teams
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
Fleet Cell Engagement & Dry Dock Preparation Monitoring
- Maintain prompt and structured engagement with Fleet Cells at agreed intervals (18, 12, 6, 4, 3, 2, and 1 month prior to docking, and during execution) as per V. MS and V.Dockings Processes.
- Collect required technical, commercial, and planning data of upcoming projects and ensure timely updates in team trackers and dashboards.
- Support Fleet Cells in meeting dry-docking preparation milestones in line with V.MS requirements through data handling, clarification, and follow-up support.
- Engage constructively with Fleet Cells to address preparation delays or gaps, reinforcing compliance expectations through professional and solution-oriented communication.
Pre-Docking Inspection & Specification Development
- Attend pre-docking inspections on assigned vessels to identify defects, repair scopes and potential cost drivers.
- Ensure inspection findings are accurately reflected in docking specifications.
- Review specifications for consistency, technical completeness, commercial clarity, and in alignment with inspection findings, identifying gaps and supporting Fleet Cells to close them effectively for finalization.
Project System, Tools & Data Governance
- Drive effective usage of company’s digital platforms for dry dock data management, from project set up, user access, basic template population, training stakeholders and drive effective usage of the application / digital platform.
- Maintain libraries of vessels / projects information and standardized templates updated and accurate at all times.
- Support verified and accurate information export-import of data within the digital platform.
- Ensure consistent format of reporting during the dry docking compliant with the company’s standards.
Project Co-ordination & Execution Support
- Coordinate engineering and technical activities for assigned projects in line with agreed plans.
- Attend dry-docking projects during execution phases where required, supporting the V.Dockings team with Project Manager–level professionalism and conduct.
- Support daily reporting, Forecasting, coordination with yards & contractors, and issue resolution under guidance during execution phases.
Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as key co-ordination point to support clear and effective communication with Fleet Cells through structured use of Video Conference call in micro-groups and formal email communications.
- Participate in internal, client, and contractor meetings with a professional, solution-focused approach.
Compliance, Risk & Reporting
- Support collection and maintenance of project documents, technical files, and updates within company’s digital platform - project maintainer and SharePoint libraries and as per V.Dockings process.
- Support preparation of periodic risk reports and maintain dry-docking trackers, checklists, and dashboards with accurate, live data.
- Proactively identify risks related to HSSEQ, schedule, cost, or compliance and escalate in line with company procedures.
Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement
- Capture lessons learned from inspections, project execution, and close-out phases.
- Share technical insights, cost drivers, and process improvement opportunities with the wider team to strengthen future project outcomes.

Essential
- Degree in Marine Engineer with sea-going experience or Degree in Naval Architecture with hands-on exposure to dry-docking planning, preparation, execution.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong capability in maintaining project trackers, dashboards, schedules, checklists and structured reporting
- Strong working knowledge of dry-docking preparation processes, timelines and compliance requirements.
- Willingness and ability to attend dry docks, inspections, and execution phases as required demonstrating professional conduct and HSSEQ awareness.
Desirable
- Practical experience with usage of digital tools/platforms for project management, familiarity with SharePoint, Power BI would be an advantage.
- Experience in maintaining dry docking data records and structured audit-ready project document management.
- Exposure to cost monitoring, variation tracking, or budget-related activities during dry docking or major retrofit projects.
- Exposure supporting Dry-dock execution on site, including co-ordination with Shipyard, contractors, Classification society and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest and capability to progress toward a Project Manager role.
