We are currently conducting primary user research for a new venture in the EV charging infrastructure space and are looking for on-ground research interns based in Bangalore.
Role Description
This is a field-based UX research internship focused on understanding electric vehicle charging behavior in Bangalore's residential apartment complexes. The primary responsibilities include conducting on-ground observational research in apartment parking areas, performing short structured interviews with EV car owners, documenting findings through standardized forms, and synthesizing insights that will directly shape product and go-to-market decisions. You will be working in your own apartment complex and 2–3 nearby residential societies, making this a unique opportunity to practice real-world user research in your own neighborhood. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about understanding user behaviors through ethnographic and field research methods.
What You'll Do
- Conduct observational research in apartment parking areas to identify and document EV adoption patterns
- Perform 5–7 minute structured interviews with EV car owners to understand charging habits, pain points, and willingness to pay for managed charging solutions
- Gather insights from RWA committee members or society managers on their attitudes toward EV charging infrastructure
- Document all findings through a standardized Google Form with both quantitative and qualitative data fields
- Submit a short summary of key observations and unexpected insights after completing your research

Qualifications
- Must be currently residing in an apartment complex (50+ flats) in Bangalore — this is a mandatory requirement
- Strong communication skills in English and Kannada or Hindi to conduct resident interviews
- Basic understanding of User Research or UX Research methods
- Ability to approach strangers confidently and conduct structured conversations
- Familiarity with Google Forms and basic data documentation
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, Business, or a related field
- Interest in electric vehicles, sustainability, or urban infrastructure is a plus
- Previous experience with user interviews, surveys, or field research is a plus but not required
