About the Role
We are seeking a Utility Operator to support plant operations in a quarry environment. This role involves operating multiple types of equipment and assisting with production activities to ensure smooth and efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a fuel truck (approximately 15% of the time) to refuel equipment across the site
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, and other machinery
- Perform routine equipment inspections (oil levels, tire pressure, fluids) and report issues
- Assist with equipment maintenance and support mechanics when needed
- Transport aggregates and raw materials within the site
- Assist with daily startup and shutdown procedures for equipment and work areas
- Perform general labor tasks including lifting, shoveling, and site cleanup
- Follow and promote all health, safety, and environmental policies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL (Tanker endorsement preferred)
- Experience operating heavy equipment (skid steers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, etc.)
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintenance
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, and varying weather)
- Strong understanding of safety regulations (MSHA and OSHA)
- Ability to pass background check, DOT physical, and drug screening
- Good physical condition to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials
- Basic knowledge of quarry operations and material handling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
Additional Requirements
- Must follow all safety protocols and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators
- Must meet respirator fit requirements (clean-shaven where applicable)
