Para General Education Teacher Assistant

Qualifications:

• High school graduate diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated understanding of student needs along with ability and desire to work with all students. 
• Ability to assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment. 
• Ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs. 
• Ability to maintain composure and communication during stressful situations. 
• Characteristics sought include:  Child-centered, adaptability, calm demeanor, respect for dignity, patience, confidentiality and ability to alertly focus during times of potential distraction.
• May need good physical flexibility such as ability to run, walk, lift and/or respond to other physical needs of the student. 
• Good attendance required.

Description:

• 3 Hours Per Day: 8:20 am - 11:20 am 
• Application deadline for UPPA Candidates: January 5, 2026, External Candidates: open until filled.
• Work year based on student attendance.
