Clinical Assistant Professor (Practice) Faculty Position
The School of Nursing at UT San Antonio invites nurses with doctoral or master’s degrees to apply for a full-time Clinical/Assistant Professor position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. These positions are primarily clinical practice in the School of Nursing. Might require some teaching under undergraduate or graduate students. All Nursing specialties will be considered; medical surgical, pediatrics, psychiatric mental health and obstetrical nursing are desired.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Teaching clinical and/or didactic in undergraduate or graduate program
- Advanced Practice Clinical Nursing at UT School of Nursing Clinical Site
- Participation in academic nursing scholarship
- Participation in shared faculty governance
- Some evenings and weekends may be required.
Qualifications - The successful candidate will have:
- A master’s degree in nursing with a doctorate in nursing or a related field preferred
- Current Texas RN Licensure is required; national APRN certification is preferred for undergraduate teaching and required for graduate teaching. Must show proof of above prior to official appointment date
- One-year clinical practice (PNP/FNP) preferred
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Willingness to practice at multiple clinical sites
- Patient-centered experience with skills that will contribute to PCMH recognition.
- Cover letter must indicate clinical experience and areas of expertise

School of Nursing:
The School of Nursing is at the forefront of academic nursing, leading excellence through innovative teaching, quality research, compassionate care, and community service in South Texas and beyond. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, including BSN, DNP and PhD degrees and specialty certificates. Today, the school’s enrollment consists of 261 graduate students and 755 undergraduate students, including 37% first generation college students and 19% male nursing students, almost twice the national average.
